Bookmark yourself logged in

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Salesforce.com’s login screen allows you to bookmark your account with your username and password in the URL and when used

We decided to emulate the same functionality. As long as you are using “https” in the URL, your password is still safe being transmitted over the internet. You just need to take extra precaution that no one has access to your iPhone because this one link will log you into your account directly. Let’s try it out…

First, open iPhone Safari and navigate to mintfly.com (stay on the login page)

Click the “+” to create a bookmark

photo-2

Click “Add Bookmark”

photo-3

Accept the default bookmark (we can’t edit the url yet) by tapping “Done”

photo-4

Open your bookmarks by clicking on the book link at the bottom of the screen

photo-5

When viewing your list of bookmarks, click the “Edit” button at the bottom of the screen

photo-6

Now tap the name “MintFly.com” or the “>” symbol to edit the urls (final step)

The original url should be “https://mintfly.com/app/login.php” and you will want to add your username and password (even token if you want) to this url. You will need to type this at the end of the URL:

?un=username@salesforce.com&pw=mypassword123

Replace “joe@salesforce.com” with your username and replace “mypassword123″ with your password (add token if you did not grant network access).

Your new url should look like this:

https://mintfly.com/app/login.php?un=username@salesforce.com&pw=mypassword123

Tap the “Done” button and your bookmark will now log you in directly!

To go along with the updated pricing we have decided to give away one 1-year MintFly Pro license per month.

How to enter? Every time you login to MintFly you are entered into the drawing. On Jan 31st I will pull a list of all logins, sort randomly, and pick the person on the top of the list. You could be it… you just have to login to your Salesforce.com account via MintFly!

New Pricing Model & New Product Coming Soon

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

We have changed the pricing model and updated our PayPal payment options. You can now subscribe on a month-to-month basis for MintFly.com. This way there’s less of a commitment even though we are taking a hit on the processing fees.

Do you have a support organization that would like a nice new customer portal? We are working on a streamlined customer portal option that is integrated 100% with Salesforce.com which allows your customers to manage cases, converse in forums, and submit product ideas. Would you like to be part of the beta? Send us an email: mintflysupport@mintfly.com

First August 2008 Release

Monday, August 11th, 2008

We have our ears and eyes open! Still, we were able to get just enough time away from email and order processing to correct all known bugs and get those main features requested incorporated into MintFly.

“My Home” is now part of all versions.  Here you can see today’s events and your open tasks.  This is the first iteration of this functionality, so if you have an idea on how to make it better, let us know.  Search performance should be improved and other usability enhancements around date-time editing and viewing related records were made.

The other great thing that was added is List View Filters.  You can now specify in your list view to only include leads of a particular status, source, or whatever you’d like.  Not too shabby, if I do say so.

Version 8.7.2 Live!

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

We have just put the finishing touches on our end of July release.  This could not have been done without the generous help of coffee (gallons and gallons of black coffee).  What does this mean for you?  We fixed all reported bugs and implemented almost all requested features:

  1. List Views:  Modify list views and create your own.  You can choose the field to be displayed in the list, if you want to filter to only your records, and sort order.
  2. List View Ajax:  List views show the top 10 records by default.  Scroll to the bottom to use the “… see more” link and you can include up to 100 records in your list view.
  3. Create Records / Log a Call:  Yes, you can now create new records.  Navigate to an Account and you can add a Case.  Navigate to a Lead and Log a Call.
  4. Improved Search:  Search errors are a thing of the past.  We improved the search to bring back a balance of different objects.  Those of us with large record sets will notice the difference here.
  5. Support for more objects:  Previously we could not support records like Products but not anymore.  You should be able to view and edit 100% of the standard and custom objects available.
Do you have an idea for our next release?  Email us:  support@mintfly.com
